Just for fun: La Vie En Rose~

I. Love. These. Two. I had a Nat King Cole revival thanks to them and after watching their exhibition, they just started another revival of one of my favourite songs: La Vie En Rose. (I can’t keep my eyes off of Alex – no this is no a celebrity crush. He reminds me of Scott Moir in that he’s such a good lead and partner and he has such lovely lines!)

I first fell in love with this song when I watched Sabrina, starring the lovely and wonderful, Audrey Hepburn and the legendary Humphrey Bogart.

I wanted to hear the full song so I started listening to Edith Piaf.

Edith Piaf’s version is lovely but I wanted a softer version but eventually, I found…

… Louis Armstrong! I usually hate it when people pronounce French really horrendously in songs or TV or movies but I didn’t mind it at all here. In fact, this is my favourite version of the song. I want to dance to this on my wedding~

I decided to save this post for Valentine’s Day because the song is so romantic~

Il m’a dit des mots d’amour, (He told me words of love)
les mots de tous les jours, (Everyday words)
et ça me fait quelque chose… (And it does something to me…)

Quand il me prend dans ses bras, (When he takes me in his arms)
il me parle tout bas, (He talks to me in a low voice)
je vois la vie en rose… (I see life through rose-coloured glasses…)

Happy Valentine’s Day~!
